Working Group – Cybersecurity

The U.S. Department of Labor’s 2016 Advisory Council on Employee Welfare and Pension Benefit Plans instructs benefit plan sponsors that multiple parties share data and assets in order to operate and administrator the benefit plans. Fiduciary standards of care require plan sponsors to manage the data and assets with the objective of minimizing exposure to the cyber threats that exist now and will develop in the future.

Recognizing that no independently developed standard exists that would guide the achievement of that objective, in 2016 IFLC commissioned a Working Group to focus on the cybersecurity issue from the perspective of ERISA benefit plan management and fiduciary duty.

Join IFLC and become part of the IFLC standards committee that will convert the Working Group’s efforts into a defined set of standardized practices.
