Endowments & Foundations

Standards Committee

The Committee for Endowments and Foundations is charged with making recommendations to the UPMIFA regulatory panel of IFLC on standards, implementation specifications, and certification criteria for aligning with audit protocols employed by states’ Attorneys General.

The scope of activity of the Committee is similar to the traditional tasks of Standards Committees working in various financial services sectors that propose new standards to the Internal Revenue Service.

On-going work aims to standardize the variety of fiduciary principles contained in UPMIFA where there is a lack specificity in UPMIFA on how endowment’s or foundation’s may ensure their compliance with those principles.

The industry leaders listed below contributed extensive knowledge and expertise to the development of the Fiduciary Standard for Endowments and Foundations and led the way to its deployment.
